Let length be x units and breadth be y units.
Area of rectangle=length×height
Orignal area=x × y
=xy units²
New length when it is increased=x+(x × 100%)
=2x units
New breadth when it is increased=y +(y× 100%)
=2y units
New area=2x × 2y
=4xy units²
Difference in area=4xy-xy
=3xy unit²
% change in area=3xy/xy×100%
=3 ×100%
=300%
Percentage change in area=300%
