x-2 is factor of f(x)

so f(2)=0

p*2²+5*2+r=0

4p+10+r=0

4p+r=-10----------------(1)

Also x-1/2 is factor of f(x)

so F(1/2)=0

p*(1/2)^2+5*1/2+r=0

p/4+5/2+r=0

p+10+4r=0

p+4r=-10-----------------------(2)

from (1) and (2) we get

p+4r=4p+r

4r-r=4p-p

3r=3p

r=p

or p=r

hence proved
