if both (x-3) and (x-1\3) are the factors of px^2 + 5x + r then show that p-r=0​

Answer:

x=3, x=1/3

put the value of x in polynomial

p (x)=p (3)^2+5 (3)+r

=9p +15+r

=3 (3p+5)+r

=3p+5+r

-5-r/3=p (1)

p (x)=p(1/3)^2+5 (1/3)+r

=1/9p+5/3+r

=1+15+9r/9

=16+9r/9

=16+9r

-16/9=r (2)

put the value of r in eq (1)

-5+16/9×3=p

11/27=p

w.k.t

11/27--16/9=0

p-r=0

prove it
