A dielectric medium reduces Coulomb’s constant, by means of the dielectric constant, thereby increasing ∈  by means of the identical quantity and relative permeability will increase μ via μr.

As we know that speed of light in a medium is 1/√(∈μ), then relative permeability μr is given by;

√μr = c*K/v

μr = c²*K²/v²

where c= speed of electromagnetic waves

K= dielectric constant
