Answer:

0

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Fuel used by A = Fuel used by B

35x^2 + 3x -4 = 16x^2 + 45x -12

19x^2 -42x + 8 = 0

(x-2)(19x -4) = 0

So x = 2 or 4/19

Case 1 :- taking x = 4/19

Fuel used by A = 35*16/361 + 12/19 -4

= 1.55 + 0.63 - 4

Since, the fuel used cannot be in -ve, x ≠ 4/19.

Case 2 :- Now taking x = 2.

Fuel used by A = 35*4 + 6 -4

= 142 L

Fuel used by B = 16*4 + 45*2 -12

= 142 L

So, no extra fuel was used by A
