Answer:

c) both a and b are correct

when a cell is kept in a hypotonic solution then it gains water through the process of osmosis as hypotonic solution is a dilute solution meaning the content of water outside the cell is more than that of inside the cell.

as plants have a cell wall therefore they will t allow water intake up to a certain level and after that the water intake will stop but in case of RBC the cell will swell and burst

as there are no cell walls to prevent the water intake

Explanation:

If the cells of onion peel and RBCs are separately kept in hypotonic solution, both the cells will swell. RBCs will burst easily while cells of onion peel will resist the bursting to some extent. Reason Onion peel being a plant cell, has cell wall while RBCs do not have cell wall.
