If citric acid is weak acid then why its Ph value is 2.5 Accordig to pH scale we found that citric acid is strong acid. We know that the acid whose Ph value is less than 3.5 is strong acid.

The name of citric acid is 2 – Hydroxy propane 1, 2, 3 – tri carboxylic acid.
From the structure it is is clear that it has three acidic groups which can release 3 H+ ions per molecule when dissolved in water. So we might expected that it is a strong acid.
But actually this is not happening. When citric acid is dissolved in water it really do not want to release all the H+ ions. Hence, it is termed as weak acid.
