SOLUTION

GIVEN

The co-ordinate of point A is - 3 and coordinate of point B is - 6

TO DETERMINE

d (A,B)

EVALUATION

Here it is given that the co-ordinate of point A is - 3 and coordinate of point B is - 6

Since co-ordinates of A and B are of same sign

So Both lies in same side of the origin

Also - 3 > - 6

Hence the required d (A,B)

 \sf = |B - A|

 \sf = | - 6- ( - 3)|

 \sf = | - 6 + 3|

 \sf = | - 3|

 \bf = 3
