Answer:

Second Quadrant

Step-by-step explanation:

Fact:

z'  is image of z in x-axis

So if

z'  lies in third quadrant then z will lie in second quadrant.

Given:

A complex number

Its quadrant = Third

To Find:

If a complex number is in third quadrant then its conjugate is in which quadrant

Solution:

Let z = a + ib

Thus, then in the third quadrant -

a<0,b<0

Its conjugate will be -

z¯= a + ib = a−ib

= a + (−ib)

= a + ik where ( k = −b)

Therefore,

= a <0 and k>0

= z¯ lies in second quadrant

Answer: If a complex number is in the third quadrant then its conjugate is in second quadrant
