solution :

we know that,

cos 45° = 1/√2

sin30° = 1/2

so, cos45° + A = sin30°

1/√2 + A = 1/2

A = 1/2 - 1/√2

A = 1 - √2/2

A = 1-√2/2

$answer = \frac{1 - \sqrt{2} }{2}$
