If cos theta =1/root3. then find sin theta and tan theta .
(using formula sin^2 theta + cos^2 theta = 1) and for tan use tan theta = sin theta / cos theta

sin²a+ cos ²a=1
sin²a+(1/√3)²=1
sin²a= 1-1/3=2/3=√2/√3
since tan a=sin a/ cos a
√2/√3÷1/√3
√2/√3×√3/1
=√2

Given cos theta = 1/root3.

We know that sin^2 theta + cos^2 theta = 1

                        sin^2 theta + (1/root3)^2 = 1

                        sin^2 theta + (1/3) = 1

                        sin^2 theta = 1 - 1/3

                       sin^2 theta = 2/3

                       sin theta = root 2/root 3.

We know that tan theta = sin theta/cos theta

                                        = root 2/root 3/1/root 3

                                        = root 2.

Hope this helps!

tamanna35: sin theta=root2/root3 tan theta= root2
tamanna35: in rt triangle hyp2=perp2+base2 : perp= root 2 : sin theta=perp/hyp =root2/root3 ; tan theta =prp/base = root2
