Given - cos theta = 1/2

Find - Value of theta

Solution - To find value of theta, divide by cos on both sides.

Hence, the equation will be -

theta = cos⁻¹ (1/2)

Value of cos⁻¹ (1/2) according to trignometric table is pie/3,

which can be further written as 180/3°

Thus, 60°

Therefore, value of theta for given equation is 60°.

Given :  Cosθ  = 1/2

To find : value of θ

Solution:

Cosθ  = 1/2

=> θ   = Cos⁻¹ ( 1/2)

Range of Cos  is  [ - 1 , 1 ]

principal value of cos -¹ lies between [0 , π ]

as we know that Cos (π /3)  = 1/2

=>  θ   = Cos⁻¹ (Cos(π /3))

=>  θ   = π /3

or θ = 180°/3 = 60°

value of  θ   = π /3   or  60°
