cosectheta=hypotenuse/perpendicular
=root 5 /1

therefore,hypotenuse=root5 and perpendicular=1

therefore,base=root (root5^2)-1^2
= root4
=2

Here it is not necessary that the cosect theta =hypotenuse/perpendicular. It depends on where the theta is.

hey user!!!

given cosec∅ = √5

we can find base, perpendicular and hypotenuse in two ways.

we know that cosec∅ = hypotenuse/perpendicular

therefore hypotenuse = √5 and perpendicular is 1

by Pythagoras theorem :-

>> base² + perpendicular²= hypotenuse²
>> base² + 1² = (√5)²
>> base² + 1 = 5
>> base² = 5 - 1
>> base² = 4
>> base = √4
>> base = 2

hence, the base is 2

another method is..

we also know that cosec∅ = 1/sin∅

and sin∅ = perpendicular/hypotenuse

1/1 × hypotenuse/perpendicular = √5

hypotenuse/perpendicular = √5

hypotenuse is √5 and perpendicular is 1

then u have to again use Pythagoras theorem.

answer will come same but second one is little complicated. so better use the first one that cosec∅ = hypotenuse/perpendicular

cheers!!!
