If cot A = 12/5. then find sin A , cosA and cosec A.

Given ,

Cot(A) = 12/5 = B/P

We know that ,

In right angled triangle ,

 \boxed{ \sf {(H)}^{2}   =  {(P)}^{2}  +   {(B)}^{2} }

Thus ,

(H)² = (12)² + (5)²

(H)² = 144 + 25

(H)² = 169

H = √169

H = ±13

Since , the length can't be negative

Hence , The hypotenuse is 13 units

Therefore ,

  • Sin(A) = P/H = 5/13
  • Cos(A) = B/H = 12/13
  • Cosec(A) = H/P = 13/5
