Answer: The correct option is (A) 525R/124.

Given: Critical temperature(Tc) and critical pressure(Pc) is 700K and 62atm respectively.

To find- Critical volume of the gas (Vc).

Explanation - From ideal gas law, we know that Vc =3b and b=RTc/8Pc .

On putting the values of Tc and Pc we get,

b= 700R/496.

Now, Vc=3b

Vc=3×700/496

Vc= 525/124R.

Critical Volume

The volume that a given mass, typically one gram of a liquid or gaseous substance, occupies at its critical temperature and pressure is known as critical volume.

The ideal gas law

According to the ideal gas law, the sum of the absolute temperature of the gas and the universal gas constant is equal to the product of the pressure and volume of one gram of an ideal gas.
