Cash paid will improve the ratio.

  • Since the current ratio is 2:1, Let assets be 2,00,000 and liabilities be 1,00,000. Let cash paid to creditors is 50,000
  • Thus, current ratio = current assets/ current liabilities
  • = 2,00,000 - 50,000/ 1,00,000 - 50,000

        = 1,50,000/50,000

        = 3/1

  • Thus, the ratio now becomes 3:1, which means that it has recovered from 2:1.
