Good Question!
In parasitic mode of nutrition, the parasite obtains it's food from the host as well as causes damage to the host. When cuscuta obtains food from the host plant, it kills the host plant as well. Whereas this is not seen in heterotrophic nutrition. Hence it is classified under parasitic nutrition and not under heterotrophic nutrition. Not to forget parasitic mode of nutrition is a classification under heterotrophic nutrition
Hope this helps you ☺️
