Question:

If D=5,Dx=-10 and Dy=20, then find the value of x and y.

Answer:

we know D=5

put the value of D in equation (1)

=>Dx=-10

=>(5)x=-10

=>x=-10/5

=>x=-2

Also put the value of D in equation (2)

=>Dy=20

=>5y=20

=>y=20/5

=>y=4

hence the value of x=-2,y=4
