if diameter of increase by 40% .find by how much % ratio increase​

If original diameter = 2x ,

original radius = x

So, original area = pi x²……….(1)

Increase in diameter = 40% of original diameter = 40/100 * 2x

= 4x/5

New diameter= 2x + 4x/5

= 14x/5

New radius = 7x/5

New increased area = pi 49x² /25 ……….(2)

So, increase in area = pi x² ( 49/25 — 1)

= 24x²pi /25

percentage increase =

[(increase in area)/ original area ] * 100

= {(24x²pi/25) / pi x² }*100 = ( 24/25)*100

= 24*4 = 96

Increase in area = 96%
