let the angles be x,y

we know that x+y=90
given x-y=40
by adding 1 and 2

2x=130

x=60

y=90-65=25

therefore angle measure of the angles are 65 and 25 degrees

sanjay3862: how 130 has came
mandalapujyothi: adding 1 and 2

\textbf{Hey mate! here's your answer!}

since , we know that the sum of complementary angles in 90° .

let the two complementary angles be "a" and "b"

so, a + b = 90° ----(1)

And, in the question, it is given that :-

difference of two complementary angles , that is ,

a - b = 40° ------(2)

Let us add the above two equations, i.e. (1) and (2),

=> a \cancel{+ b} + a \cancel{- b} = 90° + 40°

=> 2a = 130°

=> a = \frac{130}{2}

=> a = 65°

thus, the angles are :-

a = 65°

and,

a - b = 40°

substituting the value of "a"

=> 65 - b = 40

=> - b = 40 - 60

=> -b = -25

both minus will cancel out! so we will get ,

=> b = 25° ..... ANSWER
