let roots be alpha and beta .
and then take out the values of roots you are given the difference find out the sum using formula and then put the value of root in the equation and find k

x^-7x+2k=0. (given)
Let alpha and beta
are zeros of the
given polynomial
Then. (♤= Alpha,)
(♧= beta)
♤+♧= -b/a
= -(-7)/1
♤+♧=7------(i)
and
♤-♧= 1------(ii) (given)
Now adding equation
i and ii
2♤=8
♤=4
and
♧= 7-♤
=7-4
=3
Now
Products of root = c/a
♤♧= 2k/1
3×4 = 2k
k = 12/2
k= 6
