If dimension of a rectangular ground is 42 m x 66 m. Out side the ground,
around it, a cemented path of width 2 m is made. If 1 bag of cement is
required for 4 m2 path. Find how many bags of cement will be needed to
construct the path? If 4 rounds of barbed wire is used to fence the ground
(not the road) what will be the cost of wire if 1 m. barbed wire is costing
Rs. 50.

Solution :

The given dimensions of the rectangular grounds are 42 m × 66 m .

Outside the ground, around it, a cemented path of width 2 m is made.

Area of the cemented path :

=> Total area including the path - Area of the ground

=> 46 × 70 - 42 × 66

=> 448 m²

Amount of cement required :

=> 448 / 4'

=> 112 bags of cement .

Perimeter of the road :

=> 2 ( 46 + 70 )

=> 232 m

Cost of fencing ;

=> 232 × 4 × 50

=> Rs. 46400

This is the required answer.

Step-by-step explanation:

dimension of rectangular garden = 42*66

cemented path area = 2m above length 2m below length. 2m above breadth. 2m below breadth.

total cement area =46*70

bags required= total area including path - area og ground.

46*70 - 42*66

=448msquare.

1bag of cement=4msquare.

total bag of cement= 448/4=112.

total 112 bags.

for fencing the ground=42*66

perimeter of garden=2(l+b)

2*108=216.

4rounds =216*4=864m.

1m=rupees 50.

total cost = 864*50= rupees 43200

total cost = 43200
