Given that ,

Dipole moment (P) = 10 C•m

Electric field (E) = 20 N/c

We know that ,

The potential energy of dipole in a electric field is given by

 \large \sf \fbox{U =  - PE × Cos( \theta)}

Where ,

Φ = angle between P and E

Thus ,

U = -10 × 20 × Cos(0)

U = -200 × 1

U = -200 Joule

 \therefore \sf \underline{The \:  potential  \: energy \:  of \:  dipole  \: is   -200 \:  J}

Remmember :

At stable equilibrium , the angle between P and E is 0

At unstable equilibrium , the angle between P and E is 180
