Let original side of cube = x unit

Total Surface Area = 6x² unit²

After doubling the side,

New side = 2x unit

New Total Surface Area = 6 ( 2x )² = 12x² unit²

On rearranging it, we get

= 2 ( 6x² )

= 2 ( Total Surface Area )

Hence,

New surface area become 2 times the original surface area.

Answer:

4 times

Step-by-step explanation:

If side =x,

Surface area = 6x^2

If side = 2x,

Surface area = 6(2x)^2

= 6 * 4x^2

6x^2/6*4x^2
