Answer:

let the original edge be= l

the doubled length of edge will be= 2l

original volume= l*l*l

the new volume= 2/*2/*2/

                          = 8*l*l*l

therefore it will increase by 8 times

-or-

it will increase by cube of increased length

Answer:

let a be the volume of the edge of cube before doubling

volume of the cube before doubling it's edge (V)= a³

volume of the cube after doubling (V¹)= (2a) ³= 8a³

therefore, the number of time its volume increase=

=V¹/V

=8a³/a³

=8 times

thus, when the edge is doubled the volume increases 8th times the original volume.

hope this help.
