if each object in universe attract other objects why don't two books kept on a table come towards each other and collide?? give reasons

Yes..that is kinda true..but in case of attraction ..
mass of the object , force exerted by the object , etc also plays a vital role in this.
Take an example that --
If u r standing and a train pases in front of u ..so why dont you or the train is attracted...because the mass of the train is very much and the train is in motion
In universe everything is in its own motion ( as seen from different reference points ) so the motion of direction is always changeing...mass of two books is just nothing as compared fron this big universe.
Moreover the force exerted by the book would be just very..very very small as compared to the force exerted by the universe on the book..
And both the books must be exerting different forces from them .Hence , the are not attracted by each other.
