The mean will also be multiplied by 5.

Things to remember,

  1. When a number is added to all the observations, Mean also increases by that number.
  2. When a number is subtracted from all the observations, Mean also decrease by that number.
  3. When every observation is multiplied by same number, mean also multiplies by that number.
  4. When every observation is divided by same number, mean also divided by that number.

The same way in this case, Mean increases by 5.

  • Consider x was the earlier mean.
  • If each of the observation of some distribution is multiplied by 5, Then
  • New Mean = x + 5
