ans is volume will become 8 time that of initial volume.

prove: let the edge of cube be l .then initial volume is V=l3 .

now the edge is doubled then new edge becomes 2l.

thus volume V(new)=(2l)3=23×l3=8l3=8(V(initial)).

Answer:    8 times.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Let the side of cube be x cm.

So       Volume = (side)³  = (x cm)³ = x³ cm³.

  • Now side = 2 x  cm.

So          volume = (side)³ = ( 2 x  cm)³ = 8 x³  cm³.

  • Ratio = Original : New

                = x³ cm³ : 8 x³ cm³ = 1 : 8.
