To find : area of hexagon

Given : each side of hexagon = 12\ cm

Solution :

  • We know formula for area of hexagon is :

         A = \frac{\sqrt[3]{3} }{2}\times side

  • Substituting the values in above formula :

        A = \frac{\sqrt[3]{3} }{2} \times 12

            = \sqrt[3]{3}\times 6

            = \sqrt[18]{3} \ cm^{2}

Hence , area of hexagon is \sqrt[18]{3} cm^{2}  or 31.17 \ cm^{2} .

Given,

If each side of a regular hexagon is 12cm.

We have to find the area of hexagon

Formula,

Area of hexagon = \frac{3\sqrt{3} }{2}\times a^{2}

According to the question,

Each side of a regular hexagon is 12 cm, this means each side of the hexagon is equal

Now, substitute the values in above formula,

= \frac{3\sqrt{3} }{2}\times (12)^{2}

=\frac{3\sqrt{3} }{2}\times144

= 3\times \sqrt{3} \times72

= 216\sqrt{3}cm^{2}

Therefore, the area of a hexagon is 216\sqrt{3}cm^{2}.
