If it is reduced to half of its original then it will reduce its area by 75% as the examples given below prove it:-
Example 1:- Triangle sides 4 cm, 4 cm, 4 cm
a square of a side 4 cm area = 16 sq. cm
so the triangles area half of the square =
16/2 = 8 sq. cm
So half the triangles sides= 2 cm, 2 cm, 2 cm
A square of a side 2 cm = 4 sq. cm
Then the triangles area = 4/2 = 2
We conclude that if we reduce the sides by half of their original then we reduce the are 75%.
Thanks.
