Now,
Area of that triangle = √3/4 a² -------(1)
According to the condition, if the measure of the sides are increased by three times, then the area will be = √3/4 (3a)².
= 9√3 a² /4 ------(2)
Now, the percentage increased in area will be :
= 9a - a / a × 100
= 8a /a × 100
= 800 % or 8 times.
