Given :

Each side of iscosceles triangle:

 3\sqrt{2}

Base = 8

We know that,

By Pythagorus theorem,

 {base}^{2}  +  {height}^{2}  =  {hypotenus}^{2}

Let height be x, then,

 3\sqrt{2}  =  {4}^{2}  +  {x}^{2}

18 = 16 +  {x}^{2}

 {x}^{2}  = 18 - 16 = 2

x \:  =  \sqrt{2}

We know that ,

Area = 1/2 × base × height

= 1/2 × 8 ×   \sqrt{2}

= 4   \sqrt{2} cm
