We know that, Area of triangle which is Equilateral triangle is √3/4*side
Let the side be a
Then area is √3/4a²
Now a=3a
So,Area of triangle is √3/4(3a)²= 9(√3/4a²)
%increase in area = area after increase of side - earlier area /earlier area *100
= 9(√3/4a²)- √3/4a²/ √3/4a²*100
= √3/4a²(9-1)/ √3/4a²*100
= (9-1)*100
=800%
Therefore, Percent increase in area is 800%
