If earth exhibits magnetic properties then why dosen't it attract comets , asteriods or meteors which are close to earth that also exhibit magnetic properties or why don't two comets which are close to each other , attract each other? (comets also exhibit magnetic properties)

yes ,earth does attract comets ,asteroids and meteors which are close to earth, not only coz of its magnetic field but also due to earths gravity

but these comets ,asteroids and meteors which are being attracted while entering the earths atmosphere will get destroyed due to the presence of mesosphere in our earths atmosphere

thus these things gets burnt away before the reach the surface (this is the reason we see falling stars)

some big meteors which doesnt get fully burnt away will reach the surface of earth causing meteoric hits......

also two comets which are close to each other will attract each other and may destroy (who knows the are in open space)
