then surface area = 6a square
if edge get doubled then edge will be = 2a
then area will be 6 ×4a square
= 24 a2
divide 24 a2 / 6a2
= 4 times
so if edge of side is doubled then area will increase 4 times

if sides double of cube
A' = 6(2a)²
A' = 4× (6a²)
