A perfect description of energy conservation theory is " Total energy of system is neither be created nor be destroyed , just convert from one form to another form ".
Hmm !! We can convert energy one form to another form. But it's not easy to get energy in useful form. Didn't get it ?
Let's try to understand ,
You have internal energy , by which you alive your life . Now can you say if you have already energy , then why you take food for making more energy ? Why not you recycle your lost energy in the form of kinetic energy [ when you are jogging , walking ] . you can't .
That's why you take food for balancing energy in your body .
Just same things happens in whole things . We can't gain lost energy by using motor , bike , etc .
You speak , then your internal Energy converts into sound wave energy , now I say , plz make it's to your intial energy , xD !! , you will be shocked .

Hence, conclusion :- we should worry about energy because we have no such a great technologies by which we can convert any energy into the form of usable energy .

You told that energy can neither be created nor be destroyed...Yeah ! It is true but another thing which should not be neglected is that energy can be transformed from one form to another. And the energy which has been transformed cannot be revert back to the actual energy.

For example---> The plants absorb light energy from the sun and convert it into chemical energy for their food. Now the chemical energy cannot be again re-convert into light energy.

Also when we burn coal or petroleum ,what actually happens is that The heat energy applied on coal ( chemical energy ) converts it into another form of energy and that form of energy cannot be re-converted into the previous coal and petroleum.

That is why, we should save / manage our natural resources.
