is the given equation the equation of the plane or  the normal to the plane ?

let a plane be defined by :    x/3 = y/2 = z/9

     x/3 + y/2 + z/9 = d  is the equation of the plane.
     6 x + 9 y + 2 z = k  is the equation

by varying the value of k, or d,  we get parallel planes.
