formula to find the area of an equilateral triangle is √3/4 * side^2
∴ area of the triangle = √3/4 * 24 * 24
= √3 * 5 * 24
= 120√3cm^2
now, also 1/2 * b * h = area of a triangle
⇒ 1/2 * 24 * h = 120√3cm^2
⇒ 12 * h = 120√3cm^2
⇒ h = 120√3/12
⇒ h = 10√3 cm
hence, the length of the altitude of the triangle is 10√3cm.
