Let the sides of the given triangle be a, b and c.

Given that the sides of the triangle are doubled.That is sides of new triangle are 2a, 2b and 2c.

The area will increase by 300%. The area of triangle with double sides will be 4 times area of initial triangle.

Let a,b,c be the lengths of the sides of a triangle. The area is given by:
√p(p-a)(p-b)(p-c)
where p is half the perimeter, or
a+a+c/2
Now Let  a1 = 2a, b1= 2b , c1= 2c be the sides of a triangle then
its area A1 is given by -
