if everything is made from atom, then what defines a group of atom living or non living? Simply what makes a cell living even its made from atom? why other groups of molecule is not living?​

it's characters such as metabolism and consciousness can define the group of atom is living or non living .Metabolic activities going in cell makes cell living.Because they don't metabolize they don't have consciousness ,no response to external stimuli,etc.
