Answer:

f(m) = m² - 3m + 1

f( \frac{1}{2} ) = ( \frac{1}{2} ) {}^{2}  - 3( \frac{1}{2} ) + 1

 =  \:  \frac{1}{4}  -  \frac{3}{2}  + 1

 =  \frac{1 - 6 + 4}{4}  =  \frac{ - 1}{4}
