(1-cos(2))/(1+cos(2)) can be written nicely as [2 sin² (1)]/[2 cos² (1)] which is tan²(1)

Now, (1-tan²(1))/(1+tan²(1)). The top is cos(2)sec²(1) and the bottom is just sec²(1), so the secants cancel leaving, just cos(2)
