QUESTION :–
• if f(x+2) - f(x)= x² + 4x+4 and f(1)=9 then find the value of f(3) , where f(x) is denoted as a polynomial of degree 3 .
ANSWER :–
f(3) = 18
Given :–
• f(x+2) - f(x) = x² + 4x + 4
• f(1) = 9
To find :–
Value of f(3).
SOLUTION :–
• f(1) = 9 is given , so that put x = 2 in given relation.
=> f(1+2) - f(1) = (1)² + 4(1) + 4
=> f(3) - f(1) = 1 + 4 + 4
=> f(3) - 9 = 5 + 4
=> f(3) - 9 = 9
= > f(3) = 9 + 9
=> f(3) = 18
