f(x) = 5x + 40 \\ f( - 5) = 5( - 5) + 40 = - 25 + 40 = 15 \\ f( - 9) = 5( - 9) + 45 = - 45 + 45 = 0

f(x)=5x+40
when x=5,then,
f(-5)=5×(-5)+40
=-25+40
=15
when x=-9 then,
f(-9)=5×(-9)+40
=-45+40
=-5
Hope this helps u!!!
