If f(x) be cubic polynomial such that f(1) =1, f(2) =2, f(3) = 3 & & f(4) =22, then f(5) =? ​

Answer:

f(x) = a(x-1) (x-2) (x-3) + x

22 = f(4) = 6a+4 => a=3.

Therefore,

f(x) = 3*(x-1) (x-2) (x-3) + x

So, f(5) = 3*4*3*2 +5 = 72+5 = 77.
