Solution

Given :-

  • f(x) = x² - 3x .________(1)

Find :-

  • f(a+3) = f(-a)

Explanation

First , calculate f(a+3)

Keep x = a + 3 in equ(1)

➡f(a+3) = (a+3)² - 3(a+3)

➡f(a+3) = a² + 9 + 6a - 3a - 9

➡f(a+3) = a² + 3a _________(2)

Again, calculate f(-a)

Keep x = -a in equ(1)

➡f(-a) = (-a)² - 3 × -a

➡f(-a) = a² + 3a__________(3)

Since,

From equ(2) & equ(3)

  • f(a+3) = f(-a)

That's Proved.
