\huge\mathfrak\blue{Answer:}

Given:

  • We have Been Given a Function
  • f (x) = x - 4

To Find:

  • We have to find the inverse of given function f(x)
  • The value of inverse of f(x) at 2

Solution:

We have been given a function such that

=> f (x) = x - 4

Let us assume f (x) = y

=> y = x - 4

=> x = y + 4

Hence can also be written as

=> f¯¹(y) = y + 4

We get the Inverse of function f(x) in terms of variable y as :

f¯¹(y) = y + 4

Finding Value of f¯¹(y) at 2

Putting y = 2

=> f¯¹(y) = 2 + 4

=> f¯¹(y) = 6

Hence the value of inverse of f(x) at 2 is 6 .
