Answer:

a + b = -4

Step-by-step explanation:

GIVEN :–

• A Function f(x) =x⁴ - 2x³ + 3x² - ax - b .

• When function divided by x - 1 , So it gives 6 as remainder.

TO FIND :–

Value of a + b

SOLUTION :–

• To find remainder , we have to put x = 1 in given function.

• According to the question –

=> f(1) = 6

=> (1)⁴ - 2(1)³ + 3(1)² - a(1) - b = 6

=> 1 - 2 + 3 - a - b = 6

=> 4 - 2 - (a + b) = 6

=> 2 - (a + b) = 6

=> (a + b) = 2 - 6

=> a + b = -4

• Therefore , a + b = -4
