Hey there!
Let the cost price be "x"
∴ Gain = (1/4)x
Then gain percentage = [{(1/4)x}/x] ×100 = (1/4)×100 =25
So, the gain percentage = 25%
Hope it helps you!

Q1) If fan is sold for rupees 650.The gain is one fourth of the cost price of the fan.Find the gain percent.
S1) As we've told , Selling price of fan = 650
Gain earned = 1/4 of selling price
= 1/4 × 650
= 162.5
So, if gain is 162.5 , Then gain% →
Gain/Cost price × 100%
= 162.5/650×100%
= 25%
Answer→ The gain is 25%
