when a few drops of purple cabbage juice are added to the colourless solution,it changes to red or pink in colour which is acidic in material.Hence, it is the colour of the resulting solution.

The solution which is used here is neutral phenolphthalein solution which is colourless in nature. Neutral phenolphthalein solution on addition of acidic medium gets converted to pink in colour. So the Purple cabbage is acidic in nature.
